A Painter's Story · Appomattox, VA

Why I Started Perry Painting, and Why We Still Do It by Hand

People ask why, after twenty-five years, I still walk every job site myself. The honest answer is that I've never figured out how to care about your home a little less.

It started with a brush and a promise

I started Perry Painting in 1997 with a simple promise: treat every home like it's my own, and never hand a customer a finish I wouldn't want on my own walls. That promise hasn't changed, and it's the reason so much of our work still comes from referrals and repeat customers across Appomattox, Lynchburg, and Farmville.

Painting is our craft, not a side job

A lot of “painters” are squeezing this in between other jobs. We're not. Perry Painting is a family-owned company of full-time craftsmen, and it shows in the details: the crispness of a trim line, the glass-smooth surface of a sprayed cabinet, the way we leave a job site cleaner than we found it.

The crew I'm proud to send to your home

I'm careful about who wears our name. Our painters are courteous, punctual, and respectful of your home and your time. They show up when we say we will, keep the work area protected and tidy, and treat your family the way they'd want their own treated. When we're gone, the only sign we were there should be a finish you love.

Why we still do it by hand

There's no shortcut to a finish that lasts. It comes from meticulous prep, premium materials, and a crew that takes real pride in the work. That's the standard I hold every project to, and it's why I still send daily photos, walk the final inspection, and stand behind every job we do.

If that's the kind of painter you've been looking for, I'd love to talk.
